Privacy Policy

What information Quiz Portal uses, where it is kept and the choices you have. You can practise without giving us any personal information.

1. Who we are

Quiz Portal (quizportal.info) is operated by SpeckPro Digital, a company based in the United Kingdom, which is responsible for personal information processed through the Service. Contact us about privacy at info@speckpro.com.

2. Information we collect for your account

Practising does not require an account. If you create a free student account, we collect:

  • Account details: your email address and the first name or nickname you give us. If you sign up with Google, Google shares your name, email address and profile picture link with us; we do not receive your Google password.
  • Sign-in records: one-time codes (which expire quickly), sign-in times and technical security data handled by our authentication provider.
  • Study data: your practice attempts, answers and scores, topic mastery estimates and review schedule, bookmarks, saved tests, goals, SAT study plan, exam year and tier preferences, and trivia best scores.

For students with an account, study data is saved to your account in our database (hosted by Supabase) and synced across your devices; a copy is also kept in your browser’s local storage so the site works quickly. For guests, practice results stay only in that browser on your device, and we never receive them.

3. Information you send us

If you contact us or report an issue, we receive what you choose to send, such as your name, email address and message. We use it only to reply and to fix problems.

4. Information collected automatically

  • Hosting logs. Like most websites, our web hosting provider records technical information when pages are requested, such as IP address, browser type, pages visited and time. These logs are used for security and to keep the site running, and are kept for 30 days.
  • Fonts. Pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser contacts Google's servers and shares your IP address with Google.
  • Embedded video. The home page includes a YouTube video. It is shown through YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com) and nothing is loaded from YouTube until you press play. When you play it, YouTube receives information such as your IP address and may set cookies under Google's own privacy policy.
  • Analytics. Quiz Portal does not use analytics or advertising cookies.

5. How we use information and our legal bases

  • To provide the Service, remember your progress and, if you have an account, save it to your account and sync it across your devices (necessary to provide the Service you request).
  • To answer messages and fix reported errors (our legitimate interest in running a reliable service, or your consent).
  • To keep the Service secure and prevent abuse (legitimate interests).
  • To meet legal obligations.

We do not sell personal information and do not use it for targeted advertising or automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.

6. Cookies and local storage

Quiz Portal does not set advertising or tracking cookies. It uses your browser's local storage for the features described in section 2 and, when you are signed in, to keep a secure sign-in token so you stay signed in. All of these are needed for the Service to work as you expect. You can delete this data at any time with the button below, or by clearing site data in your browser settings.

Deletes your practice history, progress, bookmarks and settings from this browser. This cannot be undone.

7. Sharing information

We share personal information only with service providers who help us run the Service, under contracts that require them to protect it: our web hosting provider (website hosting), Supabase (accounts and database storage), Google (sign-in, if you choose it) and YouTube (only if you play the home-page video). We also share information when required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of our users and others. We never sell it.

8. International transfers

Our service providers may process information in other countries. Where the law requires it, we use appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, for these transfers.

9. How long we keep information

We keep your account and study data while your account is active. When you delete your account, your account and saved progress are deleted from our database straight away, and from backups within 30 days. Information in your browser stays until you sign out, delete it or clear site data. Messages and reports are kept for 12 months after the matter is resolved. Hosting logs are kept as described in section 4.

10. Children

Quiz Portal is made for students, including children. Practising does not require any personal information. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the higher age set by local law, such as 16 in some countries) without the consent of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has sent us personal information without consent, contact info@speckpro.com and we will delete it.

11. Your rights

You can view and change your goals and plan, and delete your account and all saved progress, from My Progress at any time. Depending on where you live (for example under the UK or EU GDPR, or US state privacy laws), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the use of your personal information, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. To use these rights, contact info@speckpro.com. You can also complain to your local data protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office, ico.org.uk).

Guests’ practice data is stored only in their own browser, so guests can view and delete it themselves at any time using “Clear my Quiz Portal data” in section 6. Signed-in students can delete their account and all saved progress from My Progress.

12. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information, including HTTPS for all pages. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so please keep your device secure, especially if it is shared.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date shows the latest version, and we will highlight significant changes on the Service.
