Frequently asked questions
Quick answers about practice tests, Cambridge past papers, the Digital SAT, marking, and how your data is handled.
General
What is Quiz Portal?
Quiz Portal is a free, independent exam-preparation website with original practice questions, topical practice and timed mock papers for Cambridge O Level, IGCSE and AS & A Level, plus Digital SAT practice and trivia quizzes.
Who runs Quiz Portal?
Quiz Portal is created and run by SpeckPro Digital, a company based in the United Kingdom (www.speckpro.com).
How can I contact Quiz Portal?
Email info@speckpro.com, or use the Contact form under Help. To report a mistake in a question, use “Report an issue” on the results page.
Is Quiz Portal free?
Yes. Every quiz, mock paper, SAT practice test, tool and guide is free, and there is no paywall.
Do I need an account?
No. Every quiz, mock and trivia game works as a guest, and guests’ results are kept in the browser for practice. To view your test history in My Progress, and to save goals and a study plan across devices, create a free student account (Google or email).
Does Quiz Portal work on phones and tablets?
Yes. The whole site is responsive, with a bottom navigation bar on phones and touch-friendly question controls. Graph-plotting questions also work by tapping.
Is Quiz Portal affiliated with Cambridge or College Board?
No. Quiz Portal is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Cambridge University Press & Assessment or College Board.
Cambridge O Level, IGCSE & A Level
Are these official Cambridge past paper questions?
No. Every question is original practice content written to match published syllabus topics, command words and paper formats. Official past papers are published by Cambridge International.
Where can I find official O Level and A Level past papers?
Schools access past papers, mark schemes and examiner reports through the Cambridge School Support Hub, and a selection is available on the Cambridge International website. Quiz Portal links to these sources but does not host official papers.
What is topical practice?
Topical practice groups questions by syllabus topic instead of by exam session, so you can master one area before sitting full papers. Open any subject and choose a topic, or use the topic browser.
How long are the mock papers?
Each mock runs at the official time for its paper. Where the question bank does not yet fill a whole paper, the mock is shorter and its time is scaled at the official minutes-per-mark rate.
How is my exam year used?
Cambridge syllabuses change over time. Choosing your exam year selects the matching syllabus configuration, so topics and paper formats follow the right version.
What is the difference between Core and Extended?
Many IGCSE subjects have a Core route and an Extended route with different papers and grade ranges. Choose your tier on the subject page and practice and mocks follow it.
Are practical papers included?
Yes. AS & A Level Physics, Chemistry and Biology include full-length practical (Paper 3) and planning, analysis and evaluation (Paper 5) mocks with tables, graph plotting and instrument readings.
Digital SAT
Is there a free Digital SAT practice test?
Yes. Quiz Portal has a full-length Digital SAT practice test with two Reading and Writing modules, two Math modules, a timer and an optional break, plus a half-length diagnostic. Official practice tests are in College Board's Bluebook app.
Will I get an SAT score?
You get raw accuracy, domain performance and a non-official proficiency estimate. Quiz Portal does not convert practice results to the 400–1600 scale, because the real test is scored by College Board using item response theory.
Does Quiz Portal have SAT math, reading and grammar practice?
Yes. You can practise each of the eight SAT domains, including Algebra, Advanced Math, Craft and Structure, Information and Ideas, and Standard English Conventions (grammar).
Is there a calculator and reference sheet?
Yes. SAT Math practice includes an on-screen calculator and a reference sheet. See the SAT math formulas page for the formulas you need to know.
Can I make a study plan?
Yes. The SAT study plan builds a week-by-week schedule from your test date, available hours and weakest domains.
Scores, marking & mistakes
How are written answers marked?
Structured and essay answers get provisional, keyword-based feedback against mark points, and show model answers. Calculation answers are marked on the final answer. Ask a teacher to check important written work.
What do the percentages mean?
They are practice results only. They are useful for tracking progress but are not official grades.
I think an answer is wrong. What should I do?
Use "Report an issue" on the results page. Every report goes to our review queue, and subject specialists re-check the question.
Accounts, data & privacy
How do I create a student account?
Choose Sign in, tick the box to accept the Terms and Privacy Policy, then either continue with Google or enter your email address. We email you a 6-digit code; enter it to verify your email and your account is ready.
I did not receive the code. What should I do?
Wait a minute and check your spam or junk folder. Make sure the email address is spelled correctly, then use Resend code. Only the most recent code works, and codes expire after a short time.
What can I do with an account?
See all your previous tests and scores in My Progress, track weak areas, set weekly and SAT goals, build a dated SAT study plan that ticks itself off, and pick up on any device.
Where is my progress saved?
For guests, results are kept only in this browser on your device, for practice. A free student account is needed to view your history in My Progress; your history, goals and study plan are then saved securely to your account and sync across your devices.
Can I save a test and finish later?
Yes, for practice tests. Choose "Save and exit" when leaving and resume from My Progress. Mock exams cannot be paused.
How do I delete my data?
Signed-in students can delete their account and all saved progress from My Progress. Guests can use "Clear my Quiz Portal data" on the Privacy Policy page, or clear site data in the browser.
Do you use advertising cookies?
No. Quiz Portal does not use advertising or tracking cookies and does not sell personal information.
